The End of the Earth As We Know It, & I Feel FINE!

This is a funny animation with an important message: Our seemingly innocuous actions can result in disastrous consequences, possibly far away, without us ever knowing. And humor is often the best way to make a lesson more memorable! Also, I love the alien as he crumples up his trash ... looks like he's polishing a potato.

Simple, Funny, ... Simply Funny!

It's not often a cartoon can make me wince and laugh at the same time.

A bit slow

The style is great, just wish it would move along a bit faster. It takes too long for each word to spell out. Double-time it!

Future Director!

The directorial style in this Flash animation was excellent. Simulated camera movement and lighting were all very professional.

Most Unkind Weed!

I really enjoyed this movie, very funny! It is much better than most of the Flash animations showcased at NG. I liked the low mumbling voices, and was imagining the artist trying to keep the volume down as he recorded, perhaps so his parents wouldn't come in and tell him to keep quiet :) Drugs are BAD! Animation is GOOD!

Macboy gives 2 thumbs up

I've produced a lot of Apple ad parodies myself, and I have to say that this one is very nicely done. The movie was almost exactly like the original, shot for shot. I may be Macboy, but you are the Mac Daddy.

Still Life in Iowa

Using the Fisher-Price toys as characters is a good idea, although I feel that the movie could have used more camera changes. Close-up shots of characters when they speak would certainly make it seem more dynamic. The story and narration seemed a bit slow, although this may be intentional, to reflect the mood in Middle America.

While it is nice to have a non-violent, clean theme for a Flash project once in a while, I wouldn't discredit the proven format of those movies with blood and potty jokes. They are, by far, the most appealing genre on NG, and on the Internet in general.

chickenking responds:

thanks for the feedback. i am already planning more camera changes in the next one. it incorporates a more dialogic model and will lend itself to more cuts and two-shots. thanks for the insightful review.

Blam-tastic!

This was a very creative production! I was impressed by the artist's abiligy to convincingly anthropomorphize the Flash file icons, bringing them to life with both movement and emotions. I saw the main Flash file as a Christ-like figure, suffering for the sins of all mankind. His open gunshot wounds bled as if they were stigmata on the crucified Saviour. I also liked the play on the title, "The Dammed" ...

"Let he who has not sucked cast the first Blam!"

JoeandTom responds:

Very nice analogy!
And you caught things that I made hard to sort of find, such as "the damned" and christ dying for sins

Very nice! thank you wlevin :D

Informative

Thank you for the Flash tutorial. Here are some suggestions which may help for your next project:

1. Consider using a different font than the cursive text. It was difficult to read.

2. Also, consider using a different color scheme with better contrasts. The white text on light blue background was hard to read.

3. Try rescaling your screen shots to fit your Flash file without compression. Some of the embedded GIFs and JPEGs appeared garbled.

While many may find you Flash instruction helpful, it would probably be best received at FlashKit.com!

Fargate responds:

Ok Thanks for the advice. I had to scale some of them down past normal size to fit them so that's also why some of them may be garbled. I might just use a 550 x 440 next time.

I liked the ending

I think the clown really spiced up an otherwise bland story. A very artistic, touching piece. But sometimes we all need to be slapped in the face with a clown penis.

SpriteRemixClock responds:

I like the way you think.
